Author Biography

Chen Duowen

Chen Duowen, member of the Communist Party of China, of Miao ethnicity, native of Huaihua, Hunan Province, is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Marxism, Northeastern University. His research focuses on the philosophy of ecological technology and Marxist views on science and technology. He serves as a standing director of the National Committee on Science and Technology Risk and Human Security. He mainly teaches courses such as History of Chinese Philosophy, Introduction to Dialectics of Nature, and Engineering Ethics.

He has published two monographs and nearly 40 academic papers in influential domestic journals, including Social Sciences in China, Studies in Dialectics of Nature, Journal of Dialectics of Nature, Studies in Philosophy of Science and Technology, Journal of Northeastern University (Social Science Edition), Dialectics of Science and Technology, and Qinghai Social Sciences. Among these, three papers were fully reprinted in Xinhua Digest and China Social Science Excellence (Renmin University Reprints).

He has presided over one project of the National Social Science Foundation, one postdoctoral research project, and two provincial-level social science foundation projects. His research papers have been awarded the Second Prize at the Doctoral Forum of the Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature, as well as the First Prize of the Liaoning Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award (the Sixth Provincial Government Award).
